Welcome To The Northwest Championship Sheepdog Trial
The oldest continuous sheepdog trial in the country held in conjunction with the Linn County Lamb and Wool Fair
The dates for this years competition the dates are May 16-18, 2025. The event will be held for the 13th consecutive year at Wolston Farm, one mile East of Scio. If you are not familiar with the trial location please look at our directions page and be sure to check out the information on parking status.

This year we will again have a booth selling a special beer brewed for us by Santiam Brewing in Salem. The beer is called Merlin's Olde Ale and beer glasses featuring the logo will also be availabe. Proceeds from the sale of the beer and glasses help to fund the activites of Whisttle and Crook Stock Dog Services. Learn more about Merlin's Olde Ale .

Schedule of Classes
- Friday -- Nursery Round 1, Nursery Round 2, Pro-Novice, Ranch and Brace
- Saturday -- Open Round 1
- Sunday -- Open Round 2
Trial Awards
- Friday -- Awards to the top two or three dogs in each class (min. 10 dogs in class) and prize money to the top 10% in Pro novice. Brace will have an award for the winner and prize money for top 3.
- Saturday & Sunday -- prize money to top 10% and awards for top three open dogs.
- Northwest Champion trophy to the high combined score for saturday and sunday
